GENERAL QUESTIONS SUBMISSION FORM QUESTIONS GLOBAL HIGH SCHOOLS CATEGORY POST-SUBMISSION ABOUT THE AWARDS CEREMONY GENERAL QUESTIONS 1. What funds the Zayed Sustainability Prize? The Prize fund comes from the Abu Dhabi Government to honour and continue the sustainability and humanitarian legacy of the UAE’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
SUBMISSION FORM QUESTIONS 1. Is there another way to submit an entry for the Prize, such as email or post? All submissions for the Prize must be made through the online submissions portal.
2. Is the submission form available in other languages? The Prize accepts submissions in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
3. Can I get an extension to the deadline? In the interest of fairness, extensions of the submissions period are not possible.
4. Do I have to submit my entry in one sitting or can I save my application and complete it later? Before the submissions deadline, you can save your entry while you are working on the online form and return to add or complete your application. You can return to update your content as needed until your application is ready for submission. Alternatively, the online portal allows you to download the form, fill it out offline and then paste your responses into the online form. After the submission deadline, no changes are permitted.
5. Can I modify my application after submitting if it is prior to the deadline? If you need to edit your submitted application before the deadline, send a request to techsupport@zayedsustainabilityprize.com. A member of our team will open your application within 48 hours, if your changes occur before the submissions portal officially closes.
6. Will I receive feedback on my submission, even if it does not get past the submission stage and passed on for Selection Committee review? All entries received during the submission period receive a receipt acknowledgement. If your submission does not meet our eligibility requirements, it will not be further evaluated. Unfortunately, the Prize team is unable to offer any feedback due to the volume of submissions.
7. May I submit an entry for the Prize every year? Organisations or high schools may resubmit entries for the Prize. Previous winners of the Prize may not reapply.
8. May I apply in multiple categories? You can only enter one Prize category.
9. How many attachments can I upload and what is the maximum file size? Only 5 attachments 4MB or under in size are permitted to upload.
10. Can I include videos to complement my submission? Only one video link is allowed.
11. Are there specific video formats that you accept in the attachments section of the Submission Form? Due to the size restrictions, only YouTube and Vimeo links are accepted.
12. Can I send additional materials that will complement my submission via email? All supporting materials should be submitted through the online submissions portal.
13. Do the response boxes in the submission form accept hyperlinks or attachments? The response boxes in the form only accept plain text. However, you upload supporting documents in Word, PDF or JPG file formats that include links.
14. If I have trouble with my submission, who can I contact? Contact the Prize team at techsupport@zayedsustainabilityprize.com.
15. Do I need to include financial information? Financial information must be included. Be assured that your information will be handled with the utmost confidence and disclosed only as required.
16. Are there any fees to submit an entry? No.
17. How do you categorise an SME? The Prize defers to the definition of Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the applicant’s country of origin. Please consult your national Chamber of Commerce or relevant legislation for the definition of an SME in your country.
18. If I lost my credentials, can I regain access to the submissions portal? To retrieve your log-in information, you must have access to the email used at the time of registration. Remember to save the information shared in the automated confirmation email received upon registration.
GLOBAL HIGH SCHOOLS CATEGORY 1. How is the Global High Schools Category different from all the other categories? Global High Schools teams composed of a group of students -- not individual students – can submit proposals for funding consideration to implement sustainability measures in their schools and/or community. The Global High Schools category is open to educational institutions targeting high school students aged 11 to 19 years old.
POST-SUBMISSION 1. Will I be notified when my submission is officially received? All entrants will receive a notification email upon submission. If you have not submitted your application, you will also receive a reminder email to complete your submission before the deadline.
2. Will I receive a copy of my submission? You can download a copy of your submission in the submission’s portal.
3. Will I be notified if I have been shortlisted? You will receive an email from the Prize team to let you know if you have been shortlisted or not.
4. Can I publicise my status as a shortlisted candidate? The Prize’s non-disclosure policy forbids shortlisted candidates to announce their status before the final evaluation stage and the Jury Meeting is concluded.
You are free to publicise your finalist status once we have officially posted on our social media channels.
5. If chosen as a finalist, how do I attend the awards ceremony? Finalists will have their full travel expenses covered for the Awards Ceremony. This includes flights, accommodations and ground transfers.
ABOUT THE AWARDS CEREMONY 1. When does the Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards Ceremony take place? The winners of this cycle's Zayed Sustainability Prize will be revealed during an Awards Ceremony at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in January 2025.
