Jury Selects Winners of Zayed Future Energy Prize 2016

The Jury of the Zayed Future Energy Prize, the UAE’s international awards for renewable energy and sustainability, has selected nine winners across its five categories today. The winners will be announced at the Prize awards ceremony on 16 January 2017as part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW).

Zayed Future Energy Prize Reveals 30 Finalists

International energy, sustainability and education experts met in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday and Thursday at the third in a four-stage evaluation process to determine the finalists of the ninth cycle of the Zayed Future Energy Prize. The finalists will be scrutinised by the prize’s prestigious Jury on October 23rd, and the winners are to be announced at an awards ceremony during the opening of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in January.

Zayed Future Energy Prize Educates Young People about Sustainability at Think Science Fair

Young people from across the UAE have been given an insight into how much energy it really takes to power their everyday lives, at the Think Science fair in Dubai, today. In a drive to increase high school student participation in sustainability projects, the Zayed Future Energy Prize provided young people with two interactive activities that showcase the true cost of energy generation through exercise. The activities offered young people the opportunity to learn about sustainability through fun and educational hands-on experiences.

Abu Dhabi Students Take Hands-On Approach to Sustainable Technology

Abu Dhabi students joined winners and finalists of the eighth cycle of the Zayed Future Energy Prize in Masdar City today for an interactive workshop entitled ‘Sustainability and Future Energy’. Guided by volunteers from social enterprise Liter of Light, young people learned to assemble simple and sustainable bottle lamps from recycled materials.
