Zayed Future Energy Prize celebrates a diverse group of entrepreneurs

London, UK – 20 October 2010: The Zayed Future Energy Prize, an annual US$ 2.2 Million recognition prize for innovation, leadership and sustainability in renewable energy solutions, today hosted a workshop on New Energy Solutions at the European Future Energy Forum 2010, in London. The workshop brought together experts in the fields of technology, finance and energy to discuss the economics and global commitments necessary to achieve sustainable low-carbon economies.

October 8 Submission Deadline for $2.2 Million (USD) Zayed Future Energy Prize Fast Approaching

Washington, DC (29 September 2010)—The Zayed Future Energy Prize, the largest annual prize for renewable energy and sustainability, will close submissions for its 2011 awards on 8 October 2010. Individuals, organizations, and NGO’s who have made significant advancements in this field, are strongly encouraged to apply. A purse of $1.5 million (USD) will be awarded to the winner, and $350,000 (USD) each will be awarded to up to two additional finalists for innovation, leadership and achievement across a wide spectrum of renewable energy solutions, energy conservation, social entrepreneurship, education and sustainability. Toyota Motor Corporation Awarded Zayed Future Energy Prize 2010

19 January 2010, Abu Dhabi, UAE:Toyota Motor Corporation has been awarded the 2010 Zayed Future Energy Prize, a prestigious award created in 2008 to honour of the legacy of the late Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Founding Father and President of the United Arab Emirates, HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and recognize and inspire innovators in renewable energy from around the world. Toyota was singled out for its ground breaking fuel efficiency system of the third-generation Toyota Prius, the world’s first mass-produced hybrid vehicle.
