Driving Climate Mitigation and

The 16th episode of Voices of Sustainability, the Prize’s virtual fireside chat series, aired on September 22nd, and featured Prof. Youba Sokona, Vice-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Dr. Barbara Buchner, Global Managing Director, Climate Policy Initiative. They discussed the urgent need to ramp up investment in climate mitigation and adaptation solutions in order to ensure greater climate resilience, particularly in vulnerable communities. Watch here

Voices of Sustainability

Improving Food Security Amid Climate Change

In this 17th episode of Voices of Sustainability, which aired on October 17th, food experts and guest speakers Helen Munday, President of Institute of Food Science and Technology, and Dr. Lawrence Haddad, Executive Director of Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), discussed the need to meet rising global food demand while also reducing the carbon footprint of our food systems, and how to achieve this in the face of rapid climate change. Youth in action

20 students from former Global High School winners participated in the inaugural Youth Sustainability Academy. The virtual academy took place from 8th-9th October and educated high schools and students on key sustainability issues through engaging lessons and activations.

From learning about the current state of global sustainability in Health, Food, Water & Energy, to participating in collaborative exercises where they had to develop creative solutions to key sustainability challenges, members of the Youth Sustainability Academy say they had an unforgettable experience in the 2-day progamme and cannot wait to apply the lessons they learned in their communities.
